Welcoming remarks were presented by the Republic of Estonia Minister of Culture Indrek Saar. Paavo J\u00e4rvi introduced the idea of the Instrument Foundation and gave an overview of its activities. Anna-Liisa Bezrodny, an Estonian violinist residing in London demonstrated different violins, including a rarity in a Finnish collection made in 1678 by Girolamo (Hieronymus II) Amati (1649-1740).
