The owner of the cello certified by Hieronymus K\u00f6stler (Stuttgart) is Maivi Kaljuvee.<\/p>\n<p>This year&#8217;s competition for string players was dedicated to the 115th birth anniversary of the Estonian composer Eduard Tubin. The chairman of the international jury of the competition was Professor Kristel Pappel of the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. The jury included Eva Bindere (Latvia), Susie M\u00e9sz\u00e1ros (England), Jan-Erik Gustafsson (Finland) and Jiri Parviainen (Finland).<\/p>\n<p>Three public rounds took place at the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre and in the finals the musicians were soloists together with the Estonian National Symphony Orchestra.<\/p>\n<p>Photographer: Lembit Michelson<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Valle-Rasmus Roots, playing on a cello that belongs to the collection of the Estonian Foundation of Musical Instruments, received the third prize at the Estonian string instrument competition, as well as two special awards: for the best performance of the capriccio by A.
