The programme consisted of Bedrich Smetana’s symphonic poem cycle “My Homeland”.
After the concert, the Estonian business elite was invited to the opening event of the Estonian Foundation of Musical Instruments. Welcoming remarks were presented by the Republic of Estonia Minister of Culture Indrek Saar. Paavo Järvi introduced the idea of the Instrument Foundation and gave an overview of its activities. Anna-Liisa Bezrodny, an Estonian violinist residing in London demonstrated different violins, including a rarity in a Finnish collection made in 1678 by Girolamo (Hieronymus II) Amati (1649-1740). Free flowing discussion followed about supporting the Estonian Foundation of Musical Instruments and its investment opportunities.
